Whats the best Tyre for my adventure bike.... well that depends what you want to do with it.

Starting with the tyres that are the most aggressive 50/50, these are the tyres that will dig deep for the rocks and concor the hard terrian

Dunlop Trailmax Raid The Dunlop Trailmax Raid is a genuine 50/50 adventure tyre, designed for riders who spend a similar amount of time on the road and off it. It combines a chunky, aggressive tread pattern with surprisingly strong road manners, making it well suited to adventure bikes that regularly venture onto gravel, dirt tracks and more challenging terrain. The Trailmax Raid uses Dunlop’s Dynamic Front Formula (DFF) for stable, predictable handling, while its high-silica compound is designed to provide good grip, particularly in wet and cooler conditions. The tread pattern takes inspiration from Dunlop’s D908 RR rally tyre, giving the Raid strong traction and braking performance off-road without making it unpleasant on tarmac.
Metzeler Karoo 4 The Metzeler KAROO 4 is a true 50/50 adventure tyre, designed for riders who want strong performance both on the road and when heading off-road. It is aimed at adventure bikes and maxi-enduros, with an aggressive tread pattern designed to provide plenty of traction on loose surfaces, mud, gravel and harder-packed trails. Despite its chunky appearance, the KAROO 4 is designed to offer confident road handling, with a stiff carcass and multi-radius profile helping with stability, cornering and grip, even when the bike is carrying a rider and luggage. The rear uses a dual-compound construction to balance road durability with off-road performance. The tread is designed to self-clean in muddy conditions, while Metzeler has also focused on wet-weather performance, abrasion resistance and resistance to cuts and tearing. A multi-pitch tread design helps keep road noise and vibration under control compared with some more aggressively orientated off-road tyres. Michelin Anakee Wild The Michelin Anakee Wild is a genuine 50/50 adventure tyre, designed for riders who want to split their time between tarmac and off-road riding. With its deep, aggressive knobbly tread, it offers strong traction on loose surfaces, gravel, dirt and softer terrain, while still providing confident handling on the road. Michelin uses its Radial-X technology to give the Anakee Wild improved stability and rider comfort on the road — something you don't always get from a more aggressively treaded adventure tyre. The staggered tread blocks are designed to provide good traction in ruts and soft terrain, while the compound and tread depth are built with durability and resistance to damage in mind.
Conti TKC 80 Gen 2 The Continental TKC 80 Gen 2 is brand new for 2026, bringing a completely redesigned version of the legendary TKC 80 to modern adventure bikes. After more than 40 years of the original, Continental has developed the Generation 2 from the ground up, while keeping its focus firmly on serious adventure riding. Designed as a true 50/50 on-road and off-road tyre, the TKC 80 Gen 2 features a new tread pattern with larger, repositioned blocks and additional biting edges to improve traction on loose surfaces such as gravel, mud and sand. The new carcass is also designed to provide better stability and comfort on the road, including when the bike is fully loaded. Continental has also introduced a new rubber compound with RainGrip technology, giving the Gen 2 improved wet-weather grip while maintaining the durability and off-road strength expected from a TKC 80. The front and rear tread designs are specifically optimised for braking and acceleration off-road.
Anlas Capra X The Anlas Capra X is an aggressive 50/50 dual-sport adventure tyre, designed for larger ADV bikes and riders who want genuine off-road capability without giving up too much on the road. Its chunky tread pattern is designed to provide strong grip across a wide range of surfaces, including tarmac, gravel, sand, mud and rocky terrain. The Capra X features a reinforced Aramid-belted rear carcass, giving it good durability and resistance to the demands of tougher off-road riding. Anlas has also put considerable effort into making the tyre surprisingly civilised on the road, with its block design aimed at reducing vibration and road noise while maintaining stability and cornering performance. The tread blocks are designed with wide channels to help clear mud and loose material, while the compound is engineered to improve resistance to cuts and damage when riding in harsher conditions.
Mitas Enduro Trail XT+ The Mitas ENDURO TRAIL XT+ is a seriously off-road-focused adventure tyre, designed around an 80% off-road / 20% on-road split. Its aggressive, deep-block tread is built for riders who want to tackle mud, loose gravel, rocky trails and tougher off-road terrain, while still being capable of riding the tarmac between trails. Developed from Mitas' rally and enduro experience, the XT+ uses a wide-spaced tread pattern to provide plenty of bite and help clear mud and loose material. Despite its aggressive appearance, Mitas has designed the tyre to maintain predictable handling and stability during road sections. One of the big advantages is the choice of Standard or DAKAR versions. The DAKAR uses an Ultra Heavy-Duty compound and reinforced carcass, giving it increased durability, higher puncture resistance and up to 20% more mileage than the standard version. It's particularly suited to heavier loads, long-distance adventures and extreme conditions.

Moving on to the light trail tyres, these can be classed as 70/30 tyres or 80/20 tyres. These are great for those light trails, and more road bias so you wouldnt get as much Road noise

Metzeler Karoo Street The Metzeler KAROO Street is an adventure tyre designed to give riders strong on-road performance without losing that classic knobbly adventure look and off-road ability. It sits more towards the road-going side of the adventure tyre market, making it a great option for riders who spend most of their time on tarmac but still want the freedom to head onto gravel, dirt tracks and easier trails. The KAROO Street uses a high-silica compound to provide good grip in both dry and wet conditions, while its large central tread blocks give a solid contact patch for stability at higher speeds. The V-shaped tread blocks provide additional edges for traction when riding off-road, while the multi-pitch design helps reduce vibration and improve wear when used on the road. Its profile is derived from the Metzeler Tourance Next, giving the KAROO Street more agile and predictable road handling than a more aggressive 50/50 knobbly. Metzeler has also designed it to work effectively with modern ABS and traction-control systems
Michelin Anakee Adventure 2 The Michelin Anakee Adventure 2 is a new-generation 80% road / 20% off-road adventure tyre, designed for riders who spend most of their time on tarmac but still want the freedom to explore gravel roads and lighter trails. It sits between the road-focused Anakee Road and the more aggressive Anakee Wild in Michelin's adventure range. Michelin has focused heavily on road comfort, wet-weather grip and longevity with the Adventure 2. Its new tread pattern is designed to reduce perceived road noise, while new silica-based compounds and Michelin 2CT dual-compound technology help provide grip in both wet and dry conditions. Michelin claims improved longevity over the previous Anakee Adventure, along with improved wet grip. The tyre also carries an M+S rating and uses its tread design to provide useful traction when you leave the tarmac, although it's definitely aimed at lighter trail and gravel riding rather than serious off-road work. Michelin positions it specifically as an 80/20 road/trail tyre.
Anlas Capra R The Anlas Capra R is an adventure touring and trail tyre aimed at riders who spend the majority of their time on the tarmac, but still want the ability to tackle gravel roads, tracks and lighter off-road sections. Anlas positions it around a 70% road / 30% off-road balance. The Capra R uses a silica-rich compound to provide strong grip in both wet and dry conditions, while its tread pattern is designed to offer good traction when the road ends. A 0° steel radial belt helps provide stability, particularly during higher-speed riding and when the bike is loaded with luggage. Anlas has also concentrated on keeping the Capra R comfortable on the road, with the block design intended to reduce road noise, vibration and rolling resistance. Its consistent-wear tread pattern is designed to provide good mileage for riders covering plenty of road miles.
EuroGrip Trailhound Wild The Eurogrip Trailhound Wild is a 70% road / 30% off-road adventure tyre, designed for riders who want to explore beyond the tarmac without sacrificing confident road manners. It is aimed at modern adventure bikes and is suited to everything from everyday road riding and touring to gravel, dirt roads, cobbles and light-to-moderate trails. The Trailhound Wild uses an aggressive block-style tread pattern to provide extra bite on loose and uneven surfaces, while the groove layout helps with water drainage on the road and self-cleaning when riding through dirt and mud. Its radial construction incorporates a 0° steel belt, while the high-silica compound is designed to provide grip in cold and wet conditions as well as good mileage. Eurogrip has also focused on stability and load support, making the Trailhound Wild suitable for longer adventure trips and bikes carrying luggage. Conti TKC 70 The Continental TKC 70 is a versatile 70% road / 30% off-road adventure tyre, designed for riders who spend most of their time on tarmac but still want the confidence to tackle gravel roads, dirt tracks and lighter off-road terrain. It combines a relatively road-friendly tread pattern with enough open spacing to provide useful traction away from the tarmac. On the road, the TKC 70 is designed to offer stable, predictable handling with good wet grip and relatively low road noise, making it well suited to touring and longer-distance adventure riding. Continental's MultiGrip and RainGrip technologies are designed to balance mileage, cornering grip and wet-weather performance. For riders wanting a little more off-road ability, there's also the TKC 70 Rocks rear. This can be paired with a standard TKC 70 front to give the bike more aggressive rear tread and increased off-road traction, while retaining the strong road performance of the TKC 70. Continental positions the Rocks between the TKC 70 and the more aggressive TKC 80.

we understand that not every adventure bike rider wants to have agessive looking tyres, or fancy going up dirt tracks. here are some options for you that are road bias or 90/10

Conti Trail Attack 3

The Continental ContiTrailAttack 3 is a road-focused adventure tyre, designed for riders who spend the vast majority of their time on tarmac but still want the ability to tackle the occasional gravel track or light off-road section. Continental rates it at 90% road / 10% off-road, making it a great choice for adventure bikes used mainly for touring, commuting and longer road trips.

On the road, the TrailAttack 3 is all about agile handling, stability and confidence, particularly on larger adventure bikes. Continental's MultiGrip technology helps provide a good balance of grip and mileage, while RainGrip and the tread design give it strong wet-weather performance. It also reaches its optimum operating temperature very quickly — after around 1,500 metres of riding.

The tyre is also designed with long-distance touring in mind, offering good comfort, damping and predictable handling even when the bike is loaded up. Its tread pattern provides enough bite for gravel roads and light trails, but this is definitely a tyre aimed at riders who prioritise road performance rather than serious off-road riding.

Pirelli Scorpion Trail 2

The Pirelli Scorpion Trail II is a road-focused adventure tyre designed for riders who spend most of their time on tarmac but still want the ability to tackle gravel roads and light off-road sections. It combines the characteristics of a sport-touring tyre with the versatility of an adventure tyre, making it well suited to long-distance touring, commuting and general road riding on larger adventure bikes. 

On the road, the Scorpion Trail II is particularly strong, offering stable, sporty handling and excellent wet-weather performance. Its 0° steel-belt construction helps provide stability, including when the bike is fully loaded, while the rear uses a bi-compound construction to balance mileage with grip. 

The tread pattern gives the tyre a more aggressive adventure appearance than a conventional road tyre, while still being designed primarily for tarmac. Grooves help evacuate water in wet conditions, while the tread layout provides useful traction and stability when venturing onto unsealed roads. Pirelli has also developed the tyre with long-distance use in mind, aiming for consistent performance throughout its life.

Tourance Next 2

The Metzeler Tourance Next 2 is a road-focused adventure tyre designed for riders who spend the majority of their time on tarmac but still want the versatility to explore gravel roads and light trails. It is aimed at modern adventure and touring bikes, with a strong focus on road handling, wet-weather grip and long-distance comfort.

On the road, the Tourance Next 2 offers agile, neutral handling and plenty of stability, helped by its radial construction, 0° steel belt and Metzeler INTERACT technology. The high-silica compound is designed to provide strong grip in both wet and dry conditions, while the tread pattern helps keep road noise and rolling resistance down.

Metzeler has also concentrated heavily on wet-weather performance with the Next 2. Its HYPERBASE construction and updated compounds are designed to improve braking and grip, including in colder conditions. The DYMATEC tread design helps maintain consistent performance and wear throughout the tyre's life, while the construction is designed to remain stable whether riding solo, with a pillion or carrying luggage.

There is still some adventure capability built into the tread, with deeper grooves providing stability and lateral grip on dirt roads, as well as helping to clear water. However, this is very much a road-biased adventure tyre rather than one intended for serious off-road riding.
