On the 30th of September I had the great pleasure of going on track to test the Latest Dunlop Sportsmart 4 Huge Thanks to Dunlop for setting it all up
Before we get into the main review and experience...
The Sciency BitHISILICA - An increased Silica content is used to promote compound flexibility at low temperatures. Used to reduce a compound's reliance on temperature to offer optimum grip in wet and less than ideal conditions, as well as to increase mileage. NEW COMPOUND BLEND - All new compound blend which combines wet grip resin in the shoulder compound with silica and ultra-fine carbon black. This provides increased safety margin on wet surfaces and better outright performance within a wider operating range. OPTIMISED FRONT PROFILE AND REVISED SIDEWALL -TRANSITION Provides light handling and reduced stand-up tendency when braking in curve whilst delivering perfect feedback. |

The Fun BitFirst session out, and I was taking it steady — warming up the tyres, learning the track, and getting a feel for the bike. It was my first time on the Dunlop Sportsmart 4 tyres and my first time riding the Yamaha R9, so I’ll admit I was a bit unsure at first. But after a few laps, I felt right at home on the R9. The bike felt planted, and the tyres gave me confidence straight away. Very quickly, I found myself braking later, leaning deeper into the corners, and pushing harder with each lap. The grip was there, and the feedback was spot on. I’d highly recommend the Dunlop Sportsmart 4 for any rider who rides to the track, puts in serious laps, and then rides home again. These tyres strike a perfect balance between track-ready grip and road-going versatility. Whether you're carving corners or cruising back through town, they deliver confidence, comfort, and performance where it counts. Fancy a pair? grab them here... |
