I read a bad review about your company AND THAT PROVES YOU'RE RUBBISH!

I am in a minority here at Sticky Stuff... Mick the Boss obviously wants 5 star reviews to show how great we (really) are. Matt monitors the reviews on several platforms and loves seeing a 5 star rating.

Me... I don't mind an occasional bad review, it's not as bad as you'd think.

Yes, our couriers do lose some parcels. We use multiple companies, and they all lose stuff... you can read more about couriers by clicking here.

Yes, we do occasionally send the wrong size, or the wrong tyre, we are human.

But.... we are happy to put things right, we can't fix the inconvenience or the delay, but we want to put things right and you lovely rational are pleased that we are a good company.

Which just leaves the unhappy folk who can't forgive our error, and we owe them not only the correct tyres, but we have to go back in time to make sure it never went wrong in the first place. And they also want a million pounds.

In the real world, we don't have a million pounds and our time travelling Delorean doesn't exist. So all we can do is either send a replacement or a refund, which isn't enough... and they must PUNISH US with bad feedback.

Everyone is entitled to leave fair and accurate feedback... if we did wrong then you can say so, but also consider mentioning whether we were willing and happy to correct that or were we uncaring and unwilling to fix things?

Leave a bad review, but make it fair and we will reply accordingly. And that's OK.. so when the next person reads our 1 star review they can decide whether or not we are a decent company based on whether we say....

I am sorry your tyres got lost in the mail, we have refunded you as requested.

or

OH WAHH WAHH WAAAH MY TYRES ARE LOST! GROW UPPPPPPPPPPP! JUST WALK TO WORK WE DON'T CARE!

We do care :)

A side story, from a company I used to work at. This company sold a LOT of different items, many of them were small packages sent by Royal Mail, and Royal Mail had no tracking and not much care about missing parcels back then. Things did go missing in the post, some people would understand and be happy with a replacement item or a refund... but some people can not be appeased!

There is literally nothing you can do to make them happy, and they love leaving bad feedback to say how bad we are! (though technically they were complaining about the Royal Mail.) But... we used to reply to feedback and would say 'Sorry the parcel went missing, we have refunded you / sent a replacement)

If a rational person was reading this, they'd see that something went wrong, and we fixed it. That's good right? The bad feedback now shows that we fix things and we see the customer isn't robbed. A bad review is now a good thing!

However, not everyone is rational, and when the next person learns that their parcel was missing or broken, they go to the eBay review section and delight that we have some bad reviews! Oh how it confirms their belief that we are basically Satan.

YOU HAVE 6 NEGATIVE REVIEWS IN THE LAST 12 MONTH.... YOU'RE A TERRIBLE COMPANY! I'M GOING TO TELL EBAY AND CALL THE POLICE AND TRADING STANDARDS ON YOU! ....AND YOU'LL GO TO JAIL!

Shamefully... it was true that we did have 6 bad reviews that year.... oh and also had 250,000 positive reviews. Our seller rating was 99.9%
