Going the extra mile... Ducati Desmosedici RR

When supplying products to the public it is very important to have the right balance of how you sell your product.

To be cost effective you need to minimise the work flow, be efficient and where possible have your customers to do most of the work themselves in selecting the product and supplying their name, address and email etc.

We can then just process lots of orders quickly, post off the products and job done.

That's great for most orders, but occasionally you have to go that extra mile, you need to spend time finding the right tyre for the customer, and we've just had a noteworthy example where a chap needed a rear tyre for his Ducati Desmosedici RR... a road legal Moto GP bike that is as rare as it is beautiful.

The rear tyre is a 200/55ZR16 Bridgestone BT01 and there are not many of those around, for obvious reasons.

He had the options of having a rear wheel made to accept the more common 17" rear tyres such as the Bridgestone S23, which would cost £1000's or ..... hunting down the elusive BT01.... and it was hunting season!

The customer rang his local company first, then he tried other suppliers but Mother Hubbard's cupboard was bare.
One supplier stated with utter certainty 'there are none of those in Europe mate! ... and then he rang us, we got on the case and ..... found one! Wooooooooooooooo!

The searching took time, processing the order took extra time and we took extra care in ensuring the tyre got to him safely.

We are bikers here at Sticky Stuff, and while the business does exist to make money, as bikers we love keeping bikers on the road so we will go that extra mile.

If you own a Desmo RR and you want a rear tyre... well that was the only 1 we could find, but hey... we don't mind looking again just to be sure.
